1. Remove the 4-pin Noctua fan extension cable from its packaging, and inspect it. It has a MALE and a FEMALE side. The Noctua fan will plug into the MALE side of the harness.
2. With sharp side cutters, gently cut the Noctua fan extension cable about 3 cm from the MALE connector (the connector with pins inside). Set the FEMALE side of the cable aside for another project.
3. Slide the heat-shrink and protective jacket off the end of the remaining MALE pigtail side of the Noctua cable. Set the piece of jacket aside.
4. Separate the wires from the Noctua cable pigtail, and strip about 1cm of insulation from the end of each wire EXCEPT the purple and white wires that will not be used.
5. Fifth checkpoint: Slide a section of heat-shrink tubing over each of the wires on the Cisco connector pigtail, twisting together the two black GND wires from the self-aligning connector, and the one black GND wire from the frame grounding terminal.
